*UPDATED* SciencesPo Economics Seminar: Josep PIJOAN-MAS (CEMFI)

Josep PIJOAN-MAS is Associate Professor of Economics at CEMFI. He is also a CEPR Research Fellow. He has been awarded a number of prizes - both for research and his teaching: a "Salvador de Madariaga” Scholarship for senior researchers to visit UCL in 2018, the very First "Teaching of the Year Award" of CEMFI (2015-2016) and he was shortlisted for the 2016 Vanguardia de la Ciencia Award, which recognizes the most important scientific contributions of the year in Spain across all fields for the article 'Growing like Spain: 1995-2007'.

His research focuses on household heterogeneity (consumption, savings, labor supply, health) and growth (resource misallocation, structural change). He is currently member of a Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad 3-year research project "Welfare analysis: education, employment, wages, and health" and just completed a Fundación BBVA 2-year research project on "Development, investment, and structural change” as research head.
