A few words on the department of economics
Welcome to Sciences Po Economics department homepage! You will find up-to-date information about our research, publications, seminars, undergraduate and graduate programs.
Our objective at the department is to promote research to the highest standards of academic scholarship. Our publication record (American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, Review of Economics Studies and the top field journals) demonstrates this scientific commitment. Our Ph.D/doctoral program in five years aims at the same level of excellence.
The ultimate objective is to contribute to a better understanding of the economic forces at work in our societies. Such understanding can be helped by working with other disciplines such as political sciences, sociology, law and history. From that point of view, Sciences Po is a unique institution with interdisciplinarity at the core of its scientific project. 
Another very strong tradition at Sciences Po which we want to sustain is our interest in public policy, interaction with policy makers and intervention in the public debate. Our research also demonstrates this interest in public policies: be it trade, labor, monetary, fiscal or development policies.
