Julia CAGÉ awarded ANR funding through the Young Researcher's Programme

Julia CAGÉ

The Young Researcher Programme is intended to promote young scientists and help them develop their own research themes, set up or consolidate research teams and give them the opportunity to rapidly express innovative initiatives by giving them strong support.

Julia CAGÉ, Assistant Professor of Economics, who joined the Department three years ago, has been awarded a grant by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) for her project "DESTINATION_MOON".

Professor Cagé holds a PhD from Harvard University, and joined SciencesPo's Department of Economics upon graduation in 2014. She is also a Research Affiliate at the CEPR (Economic History, Industrial Organization, and Public Economics Programs) as well as at SciencesPo's LIEPP.

She is interested in industrial organization, and in particular that of the media. She has written a number of papers, articles published in peer reviews and chapters on the subject.

Julia Cagé has also published two books on the subject, destined for a wider public:  « Sauver les médias. Capitalisme, financement participatif et démocratie » (link to Notice) which has already been translated in 10 languages including a Harvard University Press edition in English, and "L'information à tout prix" (link to Notice), co-authored by Nicolas Hervé and Marie-Lucie Viaud.

The project DESTINATION_MOON is aimed at modelling news, off-line and online, using microeconomic data and structural estimates of the production and consumption of news media.
