Julia CAGÉ appointed to the Supervisory Board of Agence France Presse (AFP)

Julia CAGÉ, Assistant Professor of Economics, and who joined the Department last year, was named member of AFP’s Board as one of its five « qualified personalities ».

One of Julia Cagé’s areas of expertise is industrial organization, and in particular that of the media. She has written a number of papers, articles published in peer reviews and chapters on the subject. Last year Julia Cagé published a book « Sauver les médias. Capitalisme, financement participatif et démocratie » (link to Notice) for the greater public and which has already been translated in 9 languages. Harvard University Press is due to publish an English edition in 2016.

The AFP is the third largest international news agency in the world  « delivering fast, in-depth coverage of the events shaping our world from wars and conflicts to politics, sports, entertainment and the latest breakthroughs in health, science and technology. »
