Julia CAGÉ, and co-authors Nicolas HERVÉ and Marie-Luce VIAUD, have published a new book: “L’information à tout prix”

Julia CAGÉ, Assistant Professor of Economics

Based on the analysis of a unique data base – an exhaustive compilation of content published online in 2013 by the media, whether it be the press, TV, radio or pure internet players – Julia Cagé tackles the timely question of whether Internet heralds the end of qualitative reporting of information, ushering in an era of “copying and pasting”.

The authors propose economic and legal solutions to combat the deterioration of journalism, essential to democracy: will Internet continue to be a unique opportunity to better inform citizens or will it, instead,  seal the tomb of quality reporting?
