Brian KNIGHT is Professor of Economics at Brown University, Vice Chair of the Economics Department. He is also a NBER Research Associate. He previously worked as an economist in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Federal Reserve Board and has held visiting faculty positions at Yale University and Harvard University. He previously served as a co-editor at the Journal of Public Economics and is on the Editorial Board at the American Economic Review. Research interests include political economy, fiscal federalism, and local public finance. His research has been published in the top peer-reviewed journals. Xavier RAGOT is Professor of Economics and CNRS Director of Research at the Department. He is also President of the OFCE. He is also a Member of the Conseil d'analyse économique and of the Conseil économique de la Nation. Previously he has served as a high-ranking civil servant: as Chief Economist at the Ministry of Economics in 2012 and as Senior Economist for the Banque de France from 2008 to 2011. His research interests focus on macroeconomics, incomplete markets (theory and computation) and monetary economics. Mark DEAN is Associate Professor of Economics at Columbia University. Prior to joining Columbia, he was an Assistant Professor at Brown. And before embarking on an academic career, he was an economist at the International Economic Analysis Division of the Bank of England. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Theory. His primary fields of research and teaching are Microeconomic Theory, Behavioural Economics, and Experimental Economics. His secondary fields are Neuroscience and Economics, Application of Behavioural Models to Development Economics. Corina BOAR is Assistant Professor of Economics at New York University (NYU). She is also a NBER Research Faculty Fellow. Prior to joining NYU, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University. She has also held a number of Visiting Scholarships: she was a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis as well as at Saint Louis and she was a Visiting Scholar at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance. Her research interests include Macroeconomics, Consumption, and Entrepreneurship. She uses both data analysis and quantitative models to understand the determinants of individuals’ consumption-savings and labour market decisions, as well as the ensuing implications for the evolution of macroeconomic aggregates, and the effectiveness of government policies. Mohammad AKBARPOUR is Assistant Professor of Economics at the Stanford Graduate School for Business and Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford. Prior to joining Stanford he was a Research Fellow, at the Becker-Friedman Institute of the University of Chicago. He is on leave this semester as a Visiting Professor at Harvard. His research work is on designing market institutions and understanding the role of networks in the economy. Recently, he has been looking at questions related to economic inequality, organ markets, and information diffusion in networks.
