*UPDATED* FRIDAY Seminar: Béatrice MAZOYER (PhD Candidate Centrale Paris / Sciences Po / INA) and Louise GOUILLËT (PhD Candidate, Visiting scholar Alliance Programme)

Béatrice MAZOYER is a PhD Candidate at the École Centrale Paris and Sciences Po, funded by the Institut national de l'audiovisuel (INA). She is currently working on a thesis entitled "Réseaux sociaux et médias d'actualité : quelles influences?", under the supervision of Céline HUDELOT(Centrale), Julia CAGÉ (Sciences Po) and Nicolas HERVÉ (INA).

Her research is bi-disciplinary: in order to exploit datasets she uses machine learning techniques (computer sciences) and to analyze them she uses econometrical methods (economics). Her fields of interest in economics include Media Economics, Political Economics, and Econometrics.

Louise GUILLOUËT is a PhD Candidate at Columbia University and presently visiting with us within the framework of the Alliance Programme. She is working on a theoretical project about the Precautionary Principle and on an empirical project based on surveys of local workers in foreign firms to study the spillovers of foreign direct investment in Myanmar. Louise is also developing a project about organic agriculture in the US.

Her research interests focus on industrial organization and its application to environmental and developmental issues.
