*EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION* Seminar: François GÉRARD (Columbia University)

François GÉRARD is Assistant Professor of Economics at Columbia University. He is also a Research Affiliate at CEPR and IGC, a NBER Faculty Research Fellow, and an Affiliate at the Center for Development Economics and Policy. While acquiring his PhD at UC Berkeley, he worked as an Academic Consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and then as Impact Evaluation Specialist for RTI International in Mali. He was recently awarded a National Science Foundation (USA) grant for his project "Unemployment Insurance Schemes in Developing Countries".

His primary research interests are at the intersection of Public Economics and Development. He is also interested in Environmental Economics and Labour Economics.
