The Department is pleased to welcome new faculty member and affiliated CNRS researcher, Jeanne HAGENBACH

Jeanne HAGENBACH, CNRS Researcher and Professor of Economics , comes to the Department from the École Polytechnique where she was affiliated as a CNRS researcher since 2010. She was also an affiliated researcher at the University of Mannheim from 2010 until 2014.

She is currently a Research Affiliate at CEPR and a member of the Editorial Board of the Review of Economic Studies. She is equally an Evaluator for  ERC Grant Proposals, National Science Foundation Proposals and those of the Agence Nationale de la Recherche.

In 2016, Professor Hagenbach was distinguished by the CNRS which awarded her a prestigious Bronze Medal (link to page).

Unabashedly theoretical, Professor Hagenbach’s research revolves around models of communication in game theory. Her objective?  To understand in which strategic situations information held by economic agents is passed on the most effectively.

Professor Hagenbach acquired her PhD in 2009 from the Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. She was awarded two prizes for her thesis « Communication stratégique et réseaux » : the Richelieu Thesis Prize of the Chancellerie des Universités de Paris and the Thesis Prize of the French Economic Association. She was recruited immediately afterwards as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Mannheim.  In 2012 the Fondation Banque de France awarded Professor Hagenbach the « Young Researcher in Economics Prize ».
