The Department of Economics extends the warmest of welcomes to five new faculty members this Fall

The Department is pleased to announce that five new permanent faculty members have joined Sciences Po this academic year. Congratulations to Pierre CAHUC and Mirke WIEDERHOLT, Full Professors of Economics, and to Jeanne COMMAULT, Benjamin MARX and Golvine DE ROCHAMBEAU, Assistant Professors of Economics.

That said, he is no stranger to Sciences Po’s Department of Economics. Pierre CAHUC, along with Yann ALGAN, created and directed a joint MasTer degree programme « Economics and Public Policy » which marked a turning point for Sciences Po by placing quantitative economics at the heart of its educational project alongside its more traditional political economic approach. And since 2012 Pierre CAHUC is one of the scientific directors of Sciences Po’s Chair « Sécurisation des parcours professionnels ».

Pierre CAHUC's research focuses primarily on unemployment and macroeconomics with a special concern for labour markets.

He is a IZA Research Fellow, Director of their « Labour Market » programme area, and CEPR Research Fellow.
