Banque de France - MACROHIST Conference "Economic History and Economic Policy" - December 14th and 15th

The Banque de France and the Department of Economics of SciencesPo are pleased to announce a 2-day conference on economic history and economic policy to be held December 14th and 15th, 2015.

Hosted by the Banque de France and organized together with the academic institutions of the European network MACROHIST, the conference will examine the usefulness of economic history for economic policy making. The various works that will be presented illustrate how the use of long-time series better inform decision making. They also how historical model and historical case studies help to (better) think on current policy issues such as monetary policy in a world of high public debt, the impact of financial regulation on financial market, the policies able to stimulate innovation and promote financial stability.

The MACROHIST European network includes SciencesPo, Université Libre de Bruxelles, University of Oxford, of Carlos III Madrid, of Humboldt zu Berlin, London School of Economics and Graduate Institute Geneva.
